Project summary:

Hollister Construction Services performed interior renovations to three floors of Becton Hall on the Teaneck side of the Metropolitan Campus at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The scope of work entailed of the 8,111sf construction of new engineering laboratories in the first and second floors. Laboratories included:

  • soils lab
  • materials testing lab
  • fluids and HVAC lab
  • mechanical training lab
  • electrical wiring lab
  • 3D printing lab
  • manufacturing lab
  • digital arts studio
  • green energy lab and
  • wood and machine shop

Interior renovations in the fourth floor included the construction of a new digital media lab for the computer sciences program. The 1,456sf digital media lab features 80" smart touch screen panels.

The Becton labs provide plenty of new and refurbished active work and study space for a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) majors. The project was completed meeting the fast track 10-week schedule.
