Project Summary:
Hollister Construction Services is performing construction management services for Driscoll Foods on the construction of their new 507,000sf distribution center headquarters in Wayne, NJ.
After outgrowing its facility in Clifton, NJ, Driscoll Foods, a leading foodservice distributor in NJ, explored the opportunity to expand its space, operations and workforce. Driscoll purchased the former site of Bayer’s North American headquarters. The new facility will allow Driscoll Foods to increase its warehouse space and operations areas from 218,000sf to 507,000sf. The company will also increase its employee count form 450 to 800 in the span of five years.
The west side of an existing building is being partially demolished in order to make room for a new 341,000sf refrigerated warehouse addition. The balance of the building being left standing will be completely renovated, providing Driscoll Foods with an additional 166,000sf of space. Both, the new addition and renovated space will be connected. The new site will also have two new driveways for truck-only access, and 67 new loading docks for the new proposed distribution operations.
The new refrigerated warehouse will include over 200,000sf for coolers and freezers, as well as ambient warehouse space for dry food storage. The renovated structure will feature new office space, production spaces and a battery charging and maintenance area. |
