Project summary:

Hollister was retained by SwimQuest + Fit to provide design-build and construction management services for the interior construction of an aquatic and fitness center, home of the New Jersey Racing Club (NJRC). An existing two-story warehouse, located in Tinton Falls, NJ, was gutted and transformed into a 29,000sf state-of-the-art facility serving swim teams, fitness club members and general public.

Equipped with cutting-edge equipment, the fitness center occupies 5,000sf of the facility’s lower level. It features free weights area, cardio deck and interval training area. Users have access to four locker rooms and shower facilities with 16 showers.

The facility’s remaining area in the lower level features a 260,000 gallon competition and training swimming pool with two 50-meter and four 25-meter lanes and a full accessible 25,000 gallon therapy and learn to swim pool. It also provides ample bleacher area accommodating approximately 100 people. A mezzanine overlooking the fitness center and swimming pool is located in the second floor and features a lounge area and various training rooms for cross fit, yoga, spin and Zumba.

The center was designed and built to provide a low chlorine environment to its users. This include dehumidifiers, UV filter system, electronic chlorine and PH controllers and highwater turnover rates. The facility accommodate the needs of physical therapy patients, swim teams and club members by providing separate entrances.

As design-builder and construction manager on this highly technical project, Hollister performed all the research and design, retained specialty consultants and subcontractors. We collaborated closely with SwimQuest + Fit and design partner, The Dietz Partnership, guiding them through the process with in the field problem solving and development of unique solutions.
